The center grew to become Anderson Youth Association and added a girls home in 1976, Supervised Independent Living services in 1988, and a Crisis Stabilization Program in 1990. Over the course of the following decade the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program, two Clinical Day Programs, Wrap Around Services, two other Supervised Independent Living programs, the Family Counseling Center, and Therapeutic Family Services in eight upstate South Carolina counties were added. In 2000, Anderson Youth Association became New Foundations Children and Family Services, Inc. That is where we stand today. Looking back over the 30 year history and thinking about touching tens of thousands of lives, as an agency we hold a collective breath and anxiously await the coming year, five years, ten years, and celebrating a 50th year anniversary and beyond. We will continue to make the necessary changes to respond to the changing needs of our communities while preserving the high standards and quality of the services that we provide. We will continue to be relentless in our pursuit to keep children safe, provide necessary treatment interventions, and strengthen families. The staff and volunteers of New Foundations believe that this is the very framework by which the agency was built and we will continue to do our part to honor so many that have dedicated their time, energy, and efforts in helping the children and families of South Carolina. As you think about the numbers of children and families served in one year just imagine how many have been served in our time here and the number of dedicated people that it has taken to serve them. Thank you South Carolina for supporting our efforts and allowing us to reach so many. |
